Each year the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Volunteer Awards recognises the incredible service and contribution of its volunteers from across the local institute network. The responsibility of choosing worthy recipients is given to a panel of fellow peers from the volunteer community and wider profession.
We are seeking applications for a Chair and five Judging Panel members for the 2024 Volunteer Awards.
The Awards are traditionally service-based and focus on distinguished and exceptional contributions made by volunteers from the local institute network. The prestigious Allan Bridgewater medal may also be awarded to those who have demonstrated truly outstanding and unique contributions.
Judging requires an in-depth understanding of the role and remit of the CII’s local institutes, and the ability to recognise the nuance and complexity in what constitutes extraordinary contribution.
Being part of the panel also means taking a collective view and having a clear vision of what constitutes excellence. It offers the chance to share your experience and expertise to influence one of the CII’s high-profile celebrations of success.
For both the Chair and Judging Panel roles, the following requirements apply:
- You are a current member of the CII/PFS.
- You are based in the UK, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
- You ideally have experience of volunteering at a local institute.
- You can demonstrate a minimum of five years’ experience working in the General Insurance or Financial Services professions.
The Chair will lead the Judging Panel during the shortlisting process and prepare a report that will be presented by to Local Institute National Forum (LINF) for proposed CII Volunteer Awards winners.
Chair and Judging Panel members shall be appointed for a term of an initial 12 months, provided the member remains eligible throughout that period.
Role descriptions can be downloaded below; to apply, please complete and submit the Application Form via the link below.
The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on 6 October 2023.
Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams during November, with appointments to be taken up in time for the Volunteer Awards Panel convening in January 2024.
