Following a governance change in 2019, it was agreed that a Local Institute National Forum (LINF) member would serve on each of the CII Board’s committees. These are the Audit & Risk Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Education & Learning Committee and Nominations & Remuneration Committee.
As the number of representatives on the LINF has reduced since 2019 from around 50 to 16 members, the Board approved a change to invite applications from Local Institute Council members thereby increasing the available pool of candidates and the potential to recruit from a wider range of diverse backgrounds.
The post would be known as the “Local Institute (LI) Committee member” and the post holder would be a full member of the relevant committee have a role alongside the other members in ensuring the committee oversees and manages the business delegated to it by the Board and as defined in its terms of reference.
We are seeking applications from Local Institute Council members to join the Professional Standards Committee and Audit & Risk Committee, with further recruitment for the Education & Learning Committee taking place later in the year.
As the Local Institute Committee member, you will help ensure that the voice of our membership is taken into account in the Committee’s decision-making and also share the Committee’s perspective with LINF colleagues where appropriate. Local Institute Committee members who are not LINF members will meet with the Vice President for Local Institutes to maintain this link and may be asked to attend LINF meetings.
