Value of professional brokers revealed by latest public trust data

New data published by the Chartered Insurance Institute (‘CII’) today (8 July 2024) reveal that professional brokers are doing more to build consumer loyalty and confidence than price comparison sites, banks and building societies, or insurers themselves.

CII and SJP host first virtual reality training session

As part of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and Personal Finance Society (PFS) Consumer Duty initiatives, the first vulnerability virtual reality (VR) session was hosted in late June. This innovative learning was facilitated by Technical Connection powered by St. James’s Place (SJP) Learning and Development. The face-to-face session is part of a series available to the whole profession, giving access to the immersive learning which is designed to help build empathy for advisers and others across the profession that would benefit from the insights.

Two new CII Board members announced

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has announced the appointment of two new Board members; Dr Desmond Bermingham, Chair of the Education & Learning Committee (ELC), and Jon Graham, Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC). Desmond and Jon join the CII Board for an initial three-year term, effective from 3 June 2024.

CII volunteers recognised for going the extra mile in annual awards

Next week, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) will host its annual Volunteer Awards as part of its Network Conference 2024. The awards honour volunteers who have gone ‘the extra mile’ within their Local Insurance Institute or PFS Regional Committee, at national level across the wider CII Group, or within their own communities. Local Institutes and Regional Committees are invited to nominate individuals, who are then assessed by the CII’s Awards Panel.
